Main transportation is Bus for the whole country. Comfortable coach are well developed all over the country. Fees of bus ticket are quite fair, around 15 USD or less depend on the distance.

Yangon, Mandalay are city of transportation hubs.

In Yangon, there are many private taxi.Taxi cars are not under company but own by individual owner. In case something happen, it’s quite difficult to handle to find out. Normally taxi crimes are very few, but anyhow good idea to share with friends taxi number you ride.

If you wanted to visit properly for the whole city, better to rent private car from travel agency. It will cost you around 10 – 30 USD more but safety is guarantee.

In Mandalay and Bagan, you could rent tri motorbike taxi, nice to ride in night time, day time is quite uncomfortable to ride due to the heat of middle of Myanmar. You could rent motorbike in some hotels. Remember that riding motorbike and driving cars in Myanmar without Myanmar driving license is illegal (e-bikes are ok). Nothing is happen if nothing is happen.

Anyhow we recommend public bus, private car rental, train, air, boat for safe travel. And there are some travel agency are providing interesting day tour with reasonable cost. You could find in our website that we have collected reliable and interesting activities.

They believe asking ETA will lead to some trouble during travel. Do not surprise most of public bus posted poster just like it above driver’s head.

Train is not very popular transportation in Myanmar but it’s really fund to ride and to have experience. Visiting Train Market with circular train in Yangon is popular attraction. Train ride in Guat htike is unique and amazing. Train ticket in Myanmar is very cheap.

Domestic airlines are significantly improving. Air ticket booking are normally cheaper in famous travel agency. Making payment is common issue buying online. To get cheap ticket, look for a bank and call travel agent who speak English and transfer money to their bank account.

Most of attraction places are near to airports and the most comfortable way to roaming around the country. But price is very expensive.

In Myanmar there are many rivers and streaming area, but transportation with boat, ship are not very developed. Luxury yacht from Mandalay to Bagan is worth to try. Mingun to Mandalay vice versa trip is very nice boat trip.

In Pyin Oo Lwin, there is colonial horse cart can be found. Weather in Pyin Oo Lwin is amazing around 20’C the whole year. Riding horse cart with good weather can be fantastic experience.

In Kawthaung , Dawei , speedboat are carrying you to amazing untouched beaches and island. Most of tours in those area are private and not very crowded so that price are relatively high.
