Be ready at 09.00 am to start exploring! We will hop on the breath-taking Yangon Circular Railway for a beautiful scenic train ride around this diverse region. Take the time to enjoy these dynamic views on Yangon’s most stunning train ride.
Your personal guide will provide expert information and guidance to help you navigate your way to the Insein township for a market visit and help you understand and explore local daily life at each and every station.
On arrival at Insein station, you can look forward to an array of colorful roadside market vendors. Buy fresh fruits and vegetables and immerse yourself in authentic local life. When you’ve worked up a thirst bargaining for the best prices at the market, join us at the local tea shop for a well-earned relaxation and cup of local tea.
After we’ve quenched our thirst, we will pay a visit to a couple of Myanmar’s most impressive pagodas, First, we will head to Kyauk Taw Pagoda. Located on the top of Mindhama Hill, nestled in Tayangone township, this pagoda is a must see, offering fantastic views across the immediate region. After a walk around this fantastic site we will hop back in the car and take a scenic drive to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of Myanmar’s most important religious sites. A site to behold, this golden stupa has been at the heart of Myanmar for over 2500 years.
After a busy day, head back to the hotel in Yangon for an overnight stay and relaxation.
Yangon-Dala-Yangon

After a good night’s sleep in your Yangon hotel, be ready for our professional driver to pick you up at your hotel in Yangon at around 07.00 am.
Enjoy the drive and watch the locals get started with their day during your transfer to the Pansodan Jetty. Hop on the ferry and relax during your 20-minute ride from Pansodan pier to Dala City where your expert guide will be ready to tell you all about this small village life. Nestled just across from the river, Dala is the perfect place to immerse yourself in local culture, away from the hustle and tourist spots of the city.
The best way for us to explore Dala is by bicycle. On your arrival we will take a relaxing cycle through the village, the perfect way to explore the regions fish markets, bamboo houses, tea shops and spot the local, freely roaming animals. We will take some time to visit a beautiful monastery and golden pagoda, a must see whilst exploring Dala.
We will take a break from the cycling to explore the chu workshop. Here we will learn about the fascinating process of turning plastic rubbish into locally crafted bags, baskets, jewelry and other colorful items.
When we’ve worked up an appetite, we will wind down and take a break in a locally run restaurant where we can refresh and revitalize with local snacks and chilled drinks before heading back to Dala ferry port and embarking the ferry back into Yangon.
On your return to Yangon pay the Gothic towers of St Mary’s cathedral and the former ministry buildings of the secretariat office compound a visit before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Yangon to Bagan

Hopefully you’ve had another restful night’s sleep because after breakfast at the hotel, we will be making a comfortable transfer to Yangon airport and boarding a flight to Bagan airport.
Yes, we are heading to Bagan! A jewel of Myanmar, get ready to be dazzled by Bagan’s beauty. This ancient kingdom dates back to the 11th century and offers visitors over 42 sq. km (26 sq. mi) of ancient temples and temple ruins. This protected archaeological zone features more than 2,200 ornamented Buddhist temples, monasteries, pagodas and ruins. Be inspired by the impressive Thatbinnyu, one of Bagan’s most famed monuments constructed by King Alaung Sithu. We will make sure you don’t miss the Ananda Temple, with its four huge standing Buddha images alongside other figures, Ananda temple’s gallery is certainly one not to be missed.
All the excitement is bound to make you hungry. We will have lunch at one of our favorite small, locally run restaurants before returning to the hotel to rest and escape the midday sun.
As the evening draws in, we will enjoy an unforgettable atmosphere with dinner at the Sunset Garden. Offering the best view of Ayeyarwady river we are sure to experience an unforgettable sunset over the stunning landscape and temples of Bagan.

Bagan

Today we will enjoy the ultimate cycling tour, truly the best way to get around Bagan. We will begin with a visit to the morning market. The perfect insight into local life in Bagan. We will have a relaxing cycle around the archaeological zone and continue to discover the numerous archaeological masterpieces that make Bagan so special.
At the end of the morning we will head back to the hotel for refreshments and a dip in the pool to cool down before heading off on our afternoon explorations.
We will take the opportunity to stop at the Lacquer ware workshop where we will learn about this traditional craft, lovingly handed down through the generations. Afterwards, we will continue our cycle through countless temples, out from downtown Bagan and over to the viewing tower. Be sure to take time here to admire the fascinating details of Bagan from up high. The stunning outdoor roof top offers 360-degree panoramic views across the temples and as far as the Irrawaddy River in the distance. At the end of the day we will watch the sun set over the plains of Bagan while enjoying a well-earned beer or soft drink before cycling back to the hotel before the sky darkens and the stars light up the city.

Bagan to Kalaw
- Nyaung U airport to Heho airport (40 mins)
After breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to make a comfortable transfer to Nyaung U airport and board our flight to Heho airport. On your arrival in Heho, you can expect to receive a warm greeting from your experienced guide and professional driver. Sit back and enjoy the scenic journey through some of Myanmar’s most beautiful landscape. Be dazzled by all that Shan State has to offer, from towering mountains, through to lush fields before arriving in Kalaw.
From Kalaw we will have an enjoyable drive to green hill valley elephant camp in magwe village where we will be greeted with a welcome drink and an informative briefing on the day’s activities. The experts will tell us all about the history of the camp and the backstory to the elephant’s lives in Myanmar. Once we are fully briefed, we will enjoy the short walk to the river whilst passing through a reforestation project set up by the camp and local villagers.
Get ready to be greeted by the elephants! We will take time to speak with the guides who know each and every elephant very well. We will learn their name, age and the story behind their retirement at the camp. We can enjoy feeding the elephants with their favorite bananas and sugar cane with the help and guidance of the camp experts. After feeding, we will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to get dressed in traditional shan clothing and prepare the elephants for bathing. Located between two small falls, we will join the elephants for their daily wash routine in a natural pool.
After all the elephant excitement we are sure to have worked up an appetite. We will head back through the reforestation project and plant a tree on the way before enjoying lunch at the main camp. After lunch we will have some additional time to explore more of the camp by foot with a local trekking guide or interact with the elephants if appropriate.
As the sun starts to go down, it’s time to say goodbye to the elephants and their mahouts before heading back for an overnight stay at the hotel in Kalaw.
NOTE: For the well-being of the animals, elephant riding is not allowed.
Kawlaw- Hinkhargone-Yar Pu
- Total walking time for day 1 is 6 hours and 20 km.
Wake up refreshed at your hotel in Kalaw, enjoy breakfast and be ready at 08.30 am to commence our trek to the local Palaung tribe village, Yarthit and Yaryaw.
Get ready for a fun and scenic trek through native tea plantations and mandarin orange groves where we will make a stop to visit a local farmer house. We will enjoy lunch at a stunning view point where we can relax with a local lunch and a beautiful view. After we have refueled with a tasty lunch, we will continue our trek for about 1 hour to Hinkhargone village where we will have the privilege to meet the Palaung tribe. We will continue our exciting explorations for about 1.5 hrs, walking and enjoying the views in this beautiful part of the country, until we reach Myindeik train station, home to the DaNu tribe. Here we will take a short break to enjoy some of the British style houses before moving on to our final local experience of the day at YarPu village.
Be excited, because tonight we will have the exciting experience of staying the night in a local home-stay.
Kawlaw- Lamine- Khonehla
- Total walking time for Day 2 is 7 hours and 25 km.
After a local breakfast at your home-stay, be ready to start trekking at 07.00 am. Today we will walk through traditional villages with fantastic views and seasonal crops. Our first stop will be the beautiful village of Lamine (DaNu tribe) followed by the smaller villages of Pin New and Paw Ke, home to the PaOh tribe. Here we will take a break and learn about the traditional art of hand-waiving.
After working up an appetite with the morning’s trekking, we will take an extended lunch break in the village of Kone Hla (DaNu tribe). Once lunch is finished, we will prepare to set off on the last leg of today’s trek which will end at Putu village (PaOh tribe).
Tonight, will be a fantastic experience. We will have the opportunity to stay with a local family, eating and socializing with them. This is a great time to learn about a local’s way of life.
Kalaw- Inle
- Total walking time for day 3 is four and half hours and 16 km
Following breakfast at our local family accommodation, we will prepare to start trekking at 07.00 am. We will set off on today’s walk to KyautSu village, home to the PaOh tribe and then on to NanYoke village. When we reach NanYoke Village, it will be time for a tea break to refresh and revitalize ready for the rest of the day’s explorations.
Just before lunch we will arrive at the infamous Inle Lake. One of Myanmar’s top natural attractions and a beauty to behold. We will take a well-deserved lunch at the boat station before taking the boat to Nyaung Shwe city. This will give us time to relax and enjoy the 1-hour boat ride.
Inle
Get ready for an exciting day in one of Myanmar’s most wonderful regions.
Our first stop will be the beautiful Shwe Yan Pyay monastery. Featuring stunning carvings and a collection of Buddha images, take your time to enjoy and learn about the monastery.
Next up is the unforgettable Inle Lake. We will have the privilege of taking a comfortable, private boat to enjoy the local villages and the unique leg-rower fishermen. We will visit the floating gardens, built up from strips of water hyacinth and mud, and anchored with bamboo poles, a truly beautiful site. After exploring the lake, we will have the unique opportunity to study traditional ways of fishing, visit traditional silk weaving workshops, cheroot making workshops and silver wear workshops. We will finish off this part of our explorations with a visit to the sacred robe workshops. A once in a life time opportunity to learn about the scared robes woven from lotus fiber from the locals themselves.
We will continue to visit the jumping cat monastery, and the most famous pagoda at Inle Lake, Phaung Daw. Here the Buddha images have been fantastically layered in gold.
Lunch today is your choice. We will stop on the lake and you can choose to sample some of the delicious inthar or shan dishes abundant in the area. The choice is yours.
In the afternoon we will return to the hotel at Nayaung Shwe/ Inle Lake where we will stay overnight.
Inle (cooking class)- Pauk Par village- Canoe ride

This morning we will pick you up at your hotel and take a comfortable drive into Nyaung Shwe where we can enjoy the five-day rotating market. A fantastic learning opportunity, your experienced guide can tell you all about the local fresh fruit, herbs and ingredients whilst you immerse yourself in local culture.
After enjoying the morning market, we will hop on a 30-minutes relaxing boat ride to the villages on Inle Lake. Here we will have the opportunity to learn to cook Shan traditional food from local house owners and under the guidance of a friendly, local chef and his wife during an interactive 2-hours cooking class. Once cooked, we will enjoy a social lunch feasting on our own, freshly cooked dishes whilst enjoying stunning views across Inle Lake, the floating gardens and against a backdrop of beautiful mountains. This outdoor spot will really make this a lunch to remember.
After we are refreshed, we will continue our afternoon adventures with a canoe ride through the floating gardens and famous floating villages. We will arrive in Pauk Par village where we will meet the Intha inhabitants and the women in traditional dress. One of the most famous attractions at Inle Lake, Pauk par village is home to over 200 cottages, most of them made from bamboo.
We will continue our journey through the northern part of the village including Hsun Daw Gyi Phaung (Royal Barge), the main streets and kindergarten before travelling through the eastern and southern parts of the village. In the southern part of the village we will pass the primary school and Myanmar’s only floating posting box (be sure to send a postcard to your loved ones!) In the middle part of the village we will enjoy pig farms, small fish farms and even wooden cabinet making. We will finish of the canoe trip back at the Ngwe Zin Yaw cheroot workshop.
We will make sure you arrive safely back at your hotel ready for a dinner served at a local restaurant.
Communal dining, great conversations, new friends and unforgettable memories will make this an unforgettable day.
